# Creating a Project

Description: This guide shows you how to create a new project in Valsight, including configuring the project name, business key, and time settings.
Create a new Valsight project, configuring its name, business key, description, and time horizon.

## Steps

### Open the project overview

Open the **Project overview** (home page).

### Enter project details

1. Click **Add** in the upper right corner.

2. Enter a name for your project in the **Name** field.
3. Enter a unique identifier in the **Business Key** field.
4. Optionally, add a description in the **Description** field.
5. Click **Next**.

### Set the time horizon

1. Select the **Horizon Period** (Year, Quarter, or Month).
2. Enter the start date in the **From** field.
3. Enter the end date in the **To** field.
4. Click **Create**.

## What you have done

The new project appears in the Project overview. You can now add data sources, models, and simulation workspaces to it.
