Release Notes 7.3.2

7.3.2 brings data from Power BI into Valsight, lets you give the AI Assistant your own rules and reference material, and makes the Assistant aware of the page you are working on.

  • Power BI as a data source
  • AI context, skills and references
  • An AI Assistant that knows where you are

Power BI as a data source

  • Import tables of a Power BI semantic model as a data source
  • Sign in with your own Power BI account, so you only see the data you already have access to in Power BI

Your administrator has to set up the Power BI connection first, and each user needs a Power BI license. For more information, see Power BI Data Source.

AI context, skills and references

  • Give the AI Assistant short rules that apply to every chat, such as how amounts are stated
  • Add skills, procedures the Assistant follows for a matching task
  • Add references, such as glossaries or mappings, that the Assistant looks up when a question needs them
  • Set them up for the whole instance (administrators) or for a single project (project editors), and see under each answer which entries were used

For more information, see AI Context, Skills and References.

An AI Assistant that knows where you are

  • The Assistant knows the page and the item you have open, such as a sheet, a dimension, a workflow or an export
  • Ask about “this sheet” or “this dimension” without naming it
  • The line at the top of the chat input shows what the Assistant sees

For more information, see Using the AI Assistant.

Other Improvements

  • Download the current sheet as Excel The download menu of a workspace now offers Formatted XLSX and Raw XLSX for the current sheet as well as for the whole workspace. For more information, see Data upload, import & export.
  • Create sheets and groups in the configuration dialog The Sheet and Group Configuration dialog can now create worksheets and groups, and lists everything a save would delete. For more information, see Workspaces.
  • Project duplication in the background Duplicating a project runs as a background job, so you can keep working meanwhile. For more information, see Duplicating a Project.
