Creating a Project

Create a new Valsight project, configuring its name, business key, description, and time horizon.

Steps

1. Open the project overview

   Open the Project overview (home page).

2. Enter project details

   1. Click Add in the upper right corner.

   

   2. Enter a name for your project in the Name field.
   3. Enter a unique identifier in the Business Key field.
   4. Optionally, add a description in the Description field.
   5. Click Next.

   

3. Set the time horizon

   1. Select the Horizon Period (Year, Quarter, or Month).
   2. Enter the start date in the From field.
   3. Enter the end date in the To field.
   4. Click Create.

   Weeks are not offered here. The Horizon Period list in this dialog is always Year, Quarter and Month. A project that should run on ISO 8601 weeks is created like any other and switched afterwards under Divide years into in Project Settings. Make that switch before you build on the project: it rebuilds the Time dimension, deleting the Quarter and Month levels and clearing every model and workspace horizon override.
