Workspace Filter
A workspace filter is the highest level of filter to be set.
Workspace filters help you organize your workspace and allow quick and easy access to specific information contained within workspaces and worksheets.
They are filters that apply to an entire workspace, including all worksheets belonging to a workspace, all charts positioned within these worksheets, and the line-items in the Scenario Manager.
A workspace filter is not a personal view. It is stored on the workspace itself, so it restricts the displayed data for all users of that workspace to the selected filter values. For dynamic filtering, use worksheet filters or chart filters instead.
By applying workspace filters, you can choose which dimensions and levels should be included in your visualizations. This way, you can filter out specific dimensions, levels, or time periods to quickly adapt your charts and tables.
A filter only affects data that carries the filtered level. If a chart is not dimensioned by the level you filtered on, the filter is silently ignored for that chart, which keeps showing full, unfiltered totals, and nothing in the interface says so. A workspace filter on Region, for example, restricts only the charts whose data has a Region level; a company-wide total without Region is unaffected.
To apply workspace filters, click on the funnel icon in the header bar and select “Add filter”. You can then assemble a filter by choosing the conditions you want to filter for.
Anyone who can open the workspace can change its filters. Editing a workspace filter deliberately needs only view permission, not edit permission. Since the filter is stored on the workspace and applies to everyone, any user of a workspace can change what all the others see.

Each filter pairs a set of level values with an operator. Six are available: =, >, ≥, <, ≤ and ≠. = and ≠ give you the familiar include and exclude, while the four ordering operators are useful on levels with a natural order, such as time: ≥ 2024 keeps everything from 2024 onwards without listing the years.
A filter with all values selected accepts only
=. Choosing any other operator is refused with ‘For filters where all level values are selected, only the ‘=’ is allowed as an operation.’ Deselect a value first, or leave the operator on=.
